Our “A Sweater is For Everyday” series makes use of a special yarn composed of a KODENSHI® nylon core covered in cotton and cashmere. While this construction necessitates a more complex process than that used for ordinary blended yarns, it allows us to create a material where only the natural cotton and cashmere fibers come in contact with the wearer’s skin. Our carefully calculated blend of 56% American Supima cotton, 19% Inner Mongolia white cashmere and 25% KODENSHI® nylon optimizes the characteristics of each of these fibers, resulting in a material with the supple softness of cotton, the beautiful luster of cashmere, and a gentle heat-retaining property made possible by the far-infrared technology of KODENSHI® nylon.

KODENSHI® is a heat-retaining fiber which reflects far infrared rays emitted from the wearer’s skin. It achieves a gentle warmth by using body heat as its source, and by repeatedly absorbing, storing and releasing the body’s heat energy, it stays naturally warm without becoming too hot. The thermal properties of KODENSHI® fibers have already attracted attention in many areas including the fields of fashion and outdoor clothing, and these fibers are blended into down, wadding and threads for use in garments such as functional down coats, jackets and shirts. Further research is currently being conducted to determine the effects of continual usage of this heat-retaining clothing upon the human body, health, relaxation and sleep.
