The fabric is knit from lustrous, high-twist silket* yarn enhanced through a specialized mercerization process. The high-tension twist creates a wave-like structure that minimizes skin contact, producing a light, dry sensation you feel the moment you slip it on.
While these sweaters are unpretentiously simple, they possess a subtle elegance and distinct character, free from weight and bulk. The high-twist yarn also makes them resistant to shrinking and machine-washable at home. *Silket processing (mercerization) treats cotton yarn under tension with a caustic alkaline solution to give the fibers a lustrous, silk-like texture. While typically carried out on individual hanks, this yarn undergoes rensil (continuous mercerization) processing—a method that is unique in Japan, and possibly the world.

このセーターを編む糸は、シルケット*と呼ばれる光沢加工を施した艶やかなコットンを、特殊な方法で強撚することで生まれたウェービーなもの。凸凹が肌との接触面をちいさく抑え、袖をとおした一瞬にドライな感覚をもたらします。

*シルケット加工とは糸を強く引っ張りながらアルカリ処理を施し、シルクのような光沢を糸に付与する加工です。この加工は通常の綛（かせ）のシルケットではなく「連シル」と呼ばれ、国内で唯一、おそらく世界でも唯一の加工方法です。

*Made with medium-long staple cotton grown in the United States, this high-twist yarn is produced through a specialized spinning process that takes three times as long as standard methods. It undergoes Japan's only continuous mercerization process, resulting in a smooth, stable yarn with a silk-like luster and minimal fuzz. With its smooth finish and dry feel, it stands up well to repeated washing.
